Biography
Garrett Stewar writes and teaches across disciplinary boundaries, with interests in Victorian and modernist fiction, poetics, narrative theory, film and media, and art history. After twenty books on such subjects, excerpts (with commentary) from his critical work, Attention Spans: Garrett Stewart, a Reader, ed. David LaRocca, is forthcoming from Bloomsbury Press.
In his frequent service as chair of the Graduate Admissions Committee over the last three decades, he has taken part in the English department’s ongoing commitment not just to diversity and inclusion but to active recruitment and mentoring in this area.
