Getong Wang, MFA
Graduate Student - MFA in Film & Video Production
Biography
Getong Wang is an artist-filmmaker. His work lies at the intersection of Chinese lyrical tradition and moving images, by combining the tactile qualities of image materials (16mm, mini-DV, 35mm, etc.) with the traditions of Chinese poetry and experimental cinema to construct audiovisual chronotopes and multi-layered metaphors that disrupt linear history. He is also a member of the collective Outtakes, which hosts micro cinema screenings and celluloid film workshops in Beijing, China.
Wang's works have been screened at various venues, including the Beijing International Short Film Festival, AntiMatter, COSMIC RAYS, and ICDOCS.
